Red Raiders Dominate the Aggies 74 - 53

Will Chavis scored 18 points and Kasib Powell added 15 as Texas Tech beat Texas A&M 74 - 53 on Saturday for its fourth straight win. The victory gave Tech its first 20 win season since the 1995 - 1996 season when they finished at 30 - 2 and went to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. It also was coach Bob Knight's 25th season out of 36 years coaching in which his teams -- Army, Indiana, and Tech -- have won at least 20 games.

Tech had one of its best defensive efforts of the season holding the Aggies to just 14 first half points. Andy Ellis scored 14 and Andre Emmett added 13, giving Tech four starters in double figures. Bernard King scored 20 points and Keith Bean added 14 for Texas A&M.
