Man Arrested for Firing Shots in Central Lubbock

Police are investigating a shooting outside a central Lubbock home Friday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., Lubbock police responded to a call about shots fired near 39th and Avenue Q. When officers arrived, they spotted Justin Carmen Martinez, 19, allegedly firing two shots at an unknown person. Martinez initially ran when officers confronted him, but was later captured, arrested, and charged with deadly conduct.

Police believe he also fired the earlier shots, in response to someone breaking windows on his vehicle.
