Wal-Mart Makes Donation to CASA of the South Plains

The Wal-Mart Super Center located at South Loop 289 and Quaker Avenue in Lubbock held a Ribbon Cutting for their Grand Reopening since making some major updates in the store. As a part of the Ribbon Cutting, CASA of the South Plains, Inc. was given a check for $1,000 by Wal-Mart Store 861 to help CASA recruit, train and support CASA Volunteers in the community.

CASA Volunteers are appointed by the foster care court to represent the best interests of children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. CASA currently has over 300 children in foster care that do not have a CASA Volunteer and CASA has not yet been able to accept all the new cases coming into the foster care system. Many more Volunteers are needed so every child in the system will have a CASA Volunteer.

For information about how to make a financial contribution to support CASA Volunteers, please call Alan Read at (806) 773-6068.
