Someone Could be Pretending to be Jody Nelson - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

More charges could come in the Jody Nelson case, but not against him.

A document was sent to federal court claiming to be from Nelson, demanding that he be released from prison. Although, court documents show that a federal judge does not believe the documents came from Nelson or his attorney.

So a criminal investigation is underway. Nelson pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $77,000 from his former employer, Patterson UTI, last year. He is currently serving a 25 year sentence.
