A second attempt to recall Lubbock councilwoman Linda DeLeon is underway. The same group who failed in their first attempt, picked up a new petition late Friday.
In order to make the November ballot, petition organizers say it is necessary to start the process now. Except this time, the petition is written in both English and Spanish.
DeLeon claims Spanish speaking individuals were misled into thinking the petition was in support of her, rather than against her.
"We're obligated to the people that signed to continue our legal petition in a legal arena -- and continue this recall," said Armando Gonzales.
Gonzales says he still has not given up on his first petition though.
Organizers need 494 valid signatures by August 14th in order to call for a recall election.
