OSU Coach On Knight's Transformation Of Tech Program

Oklahoma State's Head Coach Eddie Sutton says that Texas Tech's Bob Knight was "hungry to get back in" after being out of coaching for one year. Knight, whose remarkable transformation of the Tech program has made him a top candidate for Big XII Coach of the Year, said on Monday that it's not true. The comments came up during Monday's Big XII coaches conference call.

Knight's Red Raiders are 20 - 6 overall -- winning just nine games one year ago. Knight sat out a year after he was fired at Indiana for violation of a zero-tolerance policy. He agreed to become head coach at Texas Tech primarily because his old friend Gerald Myers is athletic director.

Now, observers are scratching their heads over the way Knight has turned the Red Raiders around in just one year.
