Seal Coating Scheduled for South Lubbock Neighborhoods

The City of Lubbock Street Department is scheduled to seal coat several south Lubbock neighborhoods on Thursday, July 19. They will be working on the following streets:

  • 78th Street - from University to Indiana
  • Gary - from 74th Street to 82nd Street
  • Hartford Avenue - from 82nd Street to 84th Street
  • Hartford Drive - from 84th Street to 86th Street
  • 86th Street - from Harford Drive to Indiana Avenue
  • 99th Street, 100th Street, 101st Street, and 102nd Street from Gary Avenue to the Cul-de-sacs to the east of Gary Avenue.
  • 103rd Street - from Gary Avenue to the Alley east of Gary Avenue.
  • Gary Avenue - from 98th Street to 103rd Street.

Please do not leave any cars parked on these streets from 7 a.m. till 6 p.m. until this work is done. Inclement weather and possible equipment problems could slow progress.

    For the third year in a row, the Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation will surprise educators on all eight Lubbock-Cooper ISD campuses by awarding 18 grants totaling more than $70,000 during the school day on Thursday, March 23.
