After going dark in Lubbock for the upcoming season, Tuesday the Cotton Kings saw some possible light in their future as the San Angelo City Council unanimously voted to open official negotiations with the team.
The approval comes on the condition that the city has to subsidize zero dollars. They can't afford to do more than that.
Hockey has been gone for 2 years in San Angelo, but the Cotton Kings believe they already have over 630 interested season ticket holders so now with talks commencing, the goal is to hammer out an agreed upon lease, the issue will be utility costs.
So will they become the San Angelo Cotton Kings in 2008-09? We'll keep you posted.
