Kids Removed from Rat-Infested Home

A Lubbock judge has ordered that seven children be removed from their rat-infested home after a dead fetus is found in the refrigerator.

Investigators first went to the home, near 20th and Avenue I, on July 7th when the children's mother called a funeral parlor to ask about a casket for a fetus. The fetus is allegedly from the 26-year-old mother's recent miscarriage, she reportedly delivered the still born baby with the help of her 9-year-old daughter.

Anthony Moya, 40, is the father of the six youngest children, and he is charged with seven counts of child endangerment. Police say the mother could face the same charges next week.

Meanwhile, two of the children were treated for suspected dehydration and all seven had head lice.
