An Abernathy man, accused of killing his neighbor, remains behind bars Wednesday.

Early Tuesday morning, police found the body of Nadine Rogers, 78, inside her home in the in the 1000 block of 14th Street.

Investigators say her car was not at her home, which suggests that robbery may have been the motive for the crime.

Jose Tanguma, 20, was arraigned on capital murder charges Wednesday. Police say he confessed to killing Rogers.

NewsChannel 11 has learned that Tanguma moved to Abernathy about six months ago. He is now being held on $750,000 bond.
