Traffic Diverted Following Central Lubbock Water Main Break - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Traffic at 34th and Quaker is slowly getting back to normal Wednesday. Parts of both streets remain closed Wednesday after a water main break there Tuesday evening.

Water utility crews worked through the night to locate and repair two broken cast iron lines, and they spent Wednesday making repairs to the street.

The city says the age of the pipes and rising temperatures contributed to the break.
