Plainview is celebrating its centennial with many scheduled events throughout the year.
Cowboy Days is coming up in September, but first, it's a garage sale that's 87 miles long. It stretches down highway 87, and here in Plainview, the event will include a BBQ cook-off. So mark your calendars for August 11th.
This weekend, Plainview is host to the Cotton Baron's Ball. The event raises money for the American Cancer Society. A $75 ticket will get you a steak dinner and admission to a concert by Grammy winner Marty Stuart. It's this Saturday night at the Cotton Compress, east of Plainview, on Highway 70.
Sunday, head over to Broadway park for the Fiesta Campesina. There will be music, food and games with all proceeds going to local scholarship funds.
