The Lubbock Animal Shelter could soon be at a new location.
In a 7-0 vote Thursday, the Lubbock City Council approved a new bond of $3.5 million for a new state-of the art facility.
The site for the building would be at Brownfield Highway and Milwaukee.
Back in 2004, the city originally approved $1 million for improvements to the existing facility, but later decided that was not enough.
