In the midst of a major sex offender roundup, Lubbock Police took the opportunity to arrest a man wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers arrested Michael Dale Burleson, 34, around 11 p.m. Thursday, in the 2600 block of 80th Street.

Police say Burleson became violent and began kicking the inside of the police car. So, they called in the paddy wagon, strapped him to a board, and took him to jail.

He remained in the Lubbock County Jail Friday night, facing additional charges of resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
