Close to 1,200 people turned out Saturday night for a benefit concert to help raise money for the family of missing Lubbock woman Peggy Merimon.
You may recall Merimon was last seen leaving the Lubbock State School with her co-worker Kay Harrelson on August 9th, 2006. Harrelson's body was found days later, but almost a year after her disappearance, search crews are still looking for Merimon.
Organizers estimate close to $6,000 was raised at the concert held at Buffalo Springs Lake Saturday night. That money will be used to off set the Merimon search effort which has cost nearly $14,000 since Peggy went missing.
Gearl Merimon, Peggy's husband, says he hopes to have another search for Peggy the first weekend of September.
