Lubbock Western remains unbeaten in pool play after a 10-0 mercy rule win over Colorado during day three of the Little Leauge Southwest Region Baseball Tournament in Waco, Texas.
Four Lubbock Western pitcher combined for the no-hit shutout while their teammates blasted four homeruns. Zane Ancell, Bryndon Arredondo and Taylor Bridges each hit solo home while Gregory Hewett belted a two-run shot. Arredondo's home run was part of a 3-hit day that produced three rbi.
Lubbock Western will meet Louisiana for the Pool A championship at 1-pm on Tuesday. The Monument Little League from Grand Junction, Colorado is now 0-2 in pool play and will finish their season with their final pool play game at 10-am Tuesday against Texas East.
It's the 12th shutout in 15 postseason games for Lubbock Western, who've outscored opponents 291-3. Lubbock Western is guaranteed a place in the semifinals. The date, time and opponent are not known yet, but NewsChannel 11 Sports will be in Waco with the team for the Semifinals.
The championship game is slated for Friday at 8pm with the winner advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennslyvania.
