A woman remains behind bars after leading police on a brief chase early Tuesday morning. Police tried to stop the woman for a traffic violation around 1:45 a.m. in the 500 block of North Boston.
The woman sped away, leading officers on a brief chase. She then bailed out of her moving SUV in the 2700 block of Duke Street. She took off running, but the SUV kept going and plowed through a chain link fence before coming to a stop next to a house.
Officers found the woman and took her into custody. She faces charges of evading arrests as well as outstanding warrants. She was taken to UMC with minor injuries.
