Garrett Williams struck out 13 while his teammates clobbered 4-home runs in a 14-6 Texas West win over Louisiana in the final day of pool play at the Little League Southwest Region Tournament in Waco, Texas.
Williams dominated the two games he tossed in pool play allow a total of only two hits while collecting 24 strikeouts.
The only hit Williams surrendered to Louisiana was a solo homer to Breen Conrad who belted two homers in the game and has four round trippers for the tournament to lead that individual statistic.
Two home runs by Tyler Thorne along with homers by Greg Hewett and Bryndan Arredondo gives Texas West 10 home runs as a team, the most by any squad in the tournament so far.The event now heads to the semi-finals on Wednesday. At 10 a.m. Texas West will face Arkansas. At 1 p.m. Louisiana takes on pool B champion New Mexico. The semi-final winners will meet in the tournament championship game scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. Texas time and the game will be televised by ESPN.
