New Program Helps Seniors Pay for Prescriptions

Seniors get ready for an opportunity you may not want to miss. It's a new program that should help seniors pay for prescription drugs. The Assistance Program from drug maker Eli Lilly allows low-income seniors with no drug insurance to get a month's supply of a prescription drug for just $12.

It's a savings that could be really big, because when you consider a year's supply of Prozac, for example, would retail for about $1,000, this deal means it would cost you only $144. If it sounds familiar, several rival drug makers have announced similar plans over the past year.

Again, this latest offer is for drugs made by Eli Lilly. Seniors can start applying for a drug discount card by calling this toll free number, 1-877-RX-LILLY. You'll get your card back in two to four weeks, then pharmacies will start accepting the cards in April.
