Representative Jones Keeping An Eye on Trooper Investigation

There are new developments from a NewsChannel 11 investigation we brought you two weeks ago. State Representative Delwin Jones says he is fully aware of a Department of Public Safety investigation into the behavior of a DPS trooper.

NewsChannel 11 has confirmed the name of the DPS Trooper seen in the home video is 40-year-old Brian Witt. A resident at the Gateway of Lubbock apartment complex shot the video July 15th. Witt was living at the complex at the time.

The video shows Witt dropping a glass bottle behind a lounge chair causing it to shatter along side a hot tub. The video also shows Witt kicking the glass into the water.

We know DPS is still conducting its internal investigation. Meanwhile, Representative Jones says he will continue to watch the investigation unfold. We were unable to reach Witt for comment.
