Diabetes patients need to read the label, because it will look different next time you buy your medication, depending on the brand.
That's because the FDA has ordered stronger warning labels explaining the heart risks for certain Type 2 diabetes medications.
The drugs Avandia, Actos, Avandaryl, Avandamet and Duetact will now carry boxed warnings on their labels.
FDA officials have decided the drugs may cause or worsen heart failure in certain patients, and that these drugs need to be monitored for signs of heart failure, like significant weight gain or swelling.
