A jury has found a Lubbock pastor guilty on four of six counts of indecency with a child. They were handed the case, late Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Royce Jimenez himself took the witness stand, where he adamantly denied ever engaging in any sort of sexual contact with the boy. He has pleaded not guilty to six counts of indecency with a child.

Jimenez was the pastor of Light of the World Christian Church, when he was arrested in May 2006.

The seven year-old boy claimed that Jimenez engaged in sexual contact with him on several occasions. But on Wednesday, Jimenez testified that he was alone with the boy only twice.

The Lubbock Police report says the boy told his parents the pastor had taken him to the VA Clinic, where they shared a bathroom stall and exchanged in inappropriate touching. But, Jimenez testified he used the urinal, while the boy went in a separate stall. Jimenez says the boy came over to him, and said his genitals looked like his father's. That's when he says he told the boy that it was inappropriate to look at him.

Another piece of evidence that came out were recordings made by the boy's father as he confronted Jimenez. On the tape, Jimenez told the father that they needed to keep this in the church, and not tell the women. He also asks for the father's forgiveness for putting his son in an inappropriate situation.

The sentencing phase is scheduled to begin Thursday. Jimenez could receive probation or up to 20 years in prison.
