Lubbock ISD has appointed a new school board member. Dan Pope will take the seat vacated by Mark Griffin, who stepped down earlier this month. Pope will hold the seat until Griffin's term expires next May.
Also Thursday, board members unanimously approved a proposal to lower your taxes from $1.56 to $1.23. So, if your home is valued at $100,000 you would save about $330 dollars per year.
