Plainview Prison Guard Killed in Early Morning Rollover

A prison guard from Plainview is dead after rolling her vehicle just after 5:00 Friday morning.

Elizabeth Ponce was killed after she lost control of the vehicle on FM 1424, three miles north of Hale Center.

Ponce, 47, worked at the Wheeler Unit in Plainview. Authorities believe she was on her way to work at the time of the accident.
