A 20-year-old man now stands indicted for the death of an elderly Abernathy woman.
A Hale County grand jury indicted Jose Tanguma for capital murder Thursday, in connection with the stabbing and strangulation death of Nadine Rogers, 78.
Rogers was found dead in her home July 23, 2007. Five dollars was stolen, but the family does not believe robbery was the only motive in the crime. Rogers and Tanguma were neighbors, and there had been reports that they argued about loud music.
If convicted, Tanguma faces life in prison or the death penalty.
