The manager of the Lubbock team that's in the Little League World Series is calling it quits when the series is done.
Ed Thorne says his goal was for the team to make it to the world series in Pennsylvania -- and the players did. Lubbock will face Salisbury, Maryland, on Wednesday afternoon.
Thorne has Lubbock in pretty good shape to advance to the semifinals. The Texas squad features a formidable blend of excellent pitching and timely power-hitting. But after the series, Thorne says he wants to concentrate working individually more with his son, Tyler, who plays on the team -- plus spend more time with his other three children.
