Welcome Home Celebration Planned for Western Little League All-Stars

Win or lose, the Western Little League All-Stars return from the Little League World Series as champions.

Late Wednesday evening, the city announced it is planning a welcome home celebration for the team. It's a partnership effort among the City of Lubbock, City Bank and United Supermarkets.

The celebration will be next Thursday, August 30th. It will start at United Market Street at 50th and Indiana with a parade. The parade will go down 50th street to City Bank Parkway off of Slide. That will be followed by hot dogs, drinks and a special ceremony. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m.

Fans are asked to line the streets north of 50th Street and east of Slide.

Parking will be available at Coronado High School, Terrace Shopping Center and Security Park Shopping Center. And beginning at 5:30 p.m., shuttle buses will take fans to City Bank.

NewsChannel 11 will broadcast live from the start of the parade, and the site of the ceremony.
