Hear, hear!!!! Great job. I completely agree. The #1 problem in public education is that teachers have no authority.
2nd is they have no respect, from both the kids and the public who pays them. And the various legislative bodies who make all the rules don't know what they're doing, either.
Your statements are so true, also the "teacher" is the only role model that some of these children have. "they are not taught or disciplined at home"
MY MOTHER TAUGHT SCHOOL FOR 20 YEARS IN OKLAHOMA AND 35 YEARS IN TEXAS- THIS BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN THE TEACHER HAD ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY IN THE CLASS ROOM- THEY HAD THE SUPPORT OF ADMINISTRATORS AND PARENTS. WE WON'T HAVE AN EFFECTIVE SCHOOL SYSTEM UNTIL CONTROL IS RETURNED TO THE LOCAL SYSTEMS AND THE PARENTS START TAKING AN INTEREST IN THEIR KIDS EDUCATION INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIND FAULT WITH THE SCHOOL WHEN THEIR KIDS DON'T DO WELL. WE HAD HOME WORK, WE HAD RULES TO GO BY AND WERE EXPECTED TO ABIDE BY THEM. PARENTS DIDN'T BUT IN.
I AGREE THAT TEACHERS NEED TO BE PAID MORE, BUT IT SEEMS WE ARE MORE INTERESTED IN SPORTS FIGURES AND HOLLYWOOD TYPES THAN SEEING OUR SCHOOL TEACHERS JUSTLY CONSPENSATED. UNTILL THE LIBERAL THOUGHT PATTERN IS REMOVED FROM OUR SOCIETY, WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE A SECOND RATE SYSTEM.
JUST WANTED TO GET MY TWO CENTS WORTH.
