One Brother Comes Home, The Other Not Far Behind

"He's been in Afghanistan and... I'm sorry... I don't know if I can do this I'm just so excited," said a crying Pat Young.

Pat is so excited to reunite with the son she hasn't seen in six months. Michael has been fighting in Afghanistan, with a computer the only connection between mother and son.

"I don't know what the mothers did before e-mail. I mean I don't know what they did. When you wouldn't hear from them for months...thank God for e-mail. Sometimes just to say I've got nothing to say, just to tell you keep your head down and I love you," Pat said.

Friday brought the chance to say that in person, but Michael won't be home for long. In fact, just for three days.

"Well, I'm going to Australia for a month to go backpacking," Michael said.

A little vacation after serving in Afghanistan.

"What I did over there, I'm very proud of, but you want to know that you can make it home safe," Michael said.

Now the Young family is waiting for another member of their family to come home. Michael's younger brother Martin is in Iraq, also serving in the Air Force.

"It's been kind of hectic with both of them over there," Pat said.

But soon Martin should be home too.

"We're going to do this again next month when his brother comes home from Iraq," Pat said.
