Stolen Vehicles Recovered From Lubbock Playa Lakes - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

For the third time in recent weeks, Lubbock authorities have pulled stolen cars out of one of the playa lakes.

This time, they pulled five vehicles from the Buddy Holly Canyon Lakes in the 700 Block of Avenue X. One of those vehicles, a pickup truck, was reported stolen back in 1999.

Firefighters first detected stolen vehicles last month while testing out new sonar equipment. They have since decided to use the technology to check out other lakes.
