War Vigil and Protest Held at Lubbock Area Veterans Memorial

As Congress prepares to review its strategy in Iraq next month, a group of Lubbockites is calling on Congress to bring U.S. troops home.

About a dozen Lubbockites gathered at the Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial Tuesday night for an anti-war vigil. It was one of 600 vigils across the country organized by the group Move-On.

By candlelight, they read the names of soldiers who have either died or been injured in Iraq this year. The protestors tell us they fully support our troops. They just don't agree with the mission they're being asked to do.
