U Lofts will not open on Thursday as planned.
Owner and Developer Dean Minardi said, "Every device talks to the fire panel and we want to make sure every signal device in the entire building is perfect and talking to the fire panel."
Minardi tells NewsChannel 11 crews are working around the clock to fix the new fire panel. Fire marshals are on standby to give final approval to the Florida developer.
The condominium complex has yet to pass its safety inspection, leaving more than 130 college students displaced.
Minardi says he expects to have students moving in by noon on Friday.
