WTOS Proposes Tax Increase - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

You don't hear it often, but Thursday morning, a group of Lubbockites asked Lubbock City Council to raise taxes. 

The West Texas Organizing Strategy is asking Lubbock City Council to raise taxes 2.28 cents higher than the approved tax rate.  A WTOS member says, "We call for council to take a courageous step and approve the WTOS proposed rate." 

WTOS claims the additional money could be used to help keep local programs and maintain infrastructure.
