In response to their emergency food drive announced last week, the South Plains Food Bank has received more than $13,300 and more than 29,000 pounds of food.
"We're a little over a week into it and we've been overwhelmed by the response," said David Weaver, Executive Director of the South Plains Food Bank.
Weaver says they have also received about 40 online donations, but they are still asking for more canned goods.
The food drive continues through September 5.
