Two Killed, Three Hospitalized In Hale County Truck Accident

A deadly accident in Hale County killed two and sent three others to the hospital Monday Evening.

Just before 5:00 p.m. a pick-up truck flipped over on F.M. 400, about 8 miles south of Plainview.

Authorities tell NewsChannel 11 that Mortin Robles, 35, and Stacy Barrera,  28, both of Plainview, died in the crash.

Investigators say Robles was driving north on F.M. 400 when he lost control. They say the truck hit a culvert, and then rolled over at least once.  It came to rest in a corn field about a quarter-mile away from where it first went off the road.

The family's personal belongings were thrown about the field Monday evening, and the truck is destroyed.

Aerocare flew two children to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, while paramedics rushed a third child to Plainview. The children's conditions were unavailable Monday night.

NewsChannel 11 will continue to follow this story, and bring you the latest Tuesday morning on Daybreak Today.
