Family Escapes Mobile Home Fire

Firefighters battled a mobile home fire just west of Lubbock Monday night.

Flames broke out around 9 p.m. at 1010 North C.R. 1600.  That's northwest of the Shadow Hills Country Club.

Family members tell NewsChannel 11 they had returned home from Dallas about an hour before the fire broke out. They say they had turned on lights and the air conditioning, and then the living room drapes caught on fire.

Fortunately, all four family members got out of the trailer before the fire spread, but they tell us that the living room is destroyed, and the rest of the home sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

A cause of the fire was not released Monday night.   Look for the latest on this story Tuesday morning on Daybreak Today.
