Fire Destroys Mobile Home, Family Accepting Donations

A Lubbock County family is homeless, after their mobile home caught fire Monday night.

Firefighters from Shallowater and west Carlisle Fire Department responded to the home at 1010 N. County Road 1600, northwest of the Shadow Hills Country Club.

Family members tell NewsChannel 11 that they had returned home from Dallas about an hour before the fire broke out. They say they had turned on lights and the air conditioning, and then the living room drapes caught on fire.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.

The family of four managed to escape safely, but their home is now a total loss.

The family is accepting donations. Contributions can be made at any branch of Security State Bank.
