Lubbockites Challenged to Get Fit

A new health initiative is issuing a 12 week challenge for all Lubbockites to "get fit."

"The key is to get six to ten people on a team, you get points by exercising, every members gets 50 points for every pound lost and you get 100 points for attending community events," said Annette Nichols Boles, with GET FiT Lubbock.

Texas Tech and the Garrison Institute on Aging kicked off the initiative this morning. They're encouraging everyone, from teachers, kids, churches and businesses to get together and form teams.

"Businesses who have healthy employees tend to work more and get more accomplished," said Eddie McBride, President, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.

The competition begins September 15th and ends December 9th. The fee to register is $20 per person if you register by September 1st. If you register after that date, the fee goes up to $25.

Though the full scope of the investigation is not clear, the information requests make evident at least some of the areas that Mueller and his team of prosecutors intend to look into and also reveal a strong interest in certain of Trump's actions as president.
