The Lubbock couple who lost their children when investigators found them living in squalor, are now trying to get them back.
Seven children were removed from a central Lubbock house back in July when investigators found a fetus in the refrigerator, rats and dirty diapers throughout the house.
Wednesday, their parents went before a judge in an effort to get the kids back.
Greg Cunningham with Child Protective Services tells NewsChannel 11 the couple is taking counseling and therapy, but they must be out of the condemned house by September 15th.
The children are currently in foster care and Cunningham says it could take more than a year before a decision is made on their permanent home.
