Texas Tech is among five universities nationwide that will receive $1.2 million in grant funding.
"We're excited to partner with you for success not only today but in the future as well," said Todd Staples, Texas Agriculture Commissioner.
Staples announced that Tech will get more than $457,000 of that grant. The university will use the money for studies that deal with cotton and fibers.
