Two Odessa Police officers will be remembered Wednesday. The funerals will begin Wednesday morning as Lubbock continues to support the families of the injured officer.

We know that the Lubbock Police Department will be providing 11 motorcycle officers to help with escorting and traffic during Wednesday's funerals. Corporals Arlie Jones and Scott Gardner's funerals will be in Odessa.

The Odessa police officers were shot during a swat standoff in Odessa Saturday night. Gardner's funeral will be at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Odessa. Services for Jones will begin at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Fellowship. Both men will be buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

We're told Lubbock police officers and other Lubbock officials will attend the funerals. Again, LPD will be providing traffic assistance during the funerals for the two officers who were shot and killed.

As for Corporal Abel Marquez, the third officer shot in the standoff. He remains in critical condition at UMC here in Lubbock. Family members have told the Odessa American newspaper that they don't think he'll pull through this but they want to give him a bit more time.  Of course, Lubbock officials say they will continue to provide hotel rooms and food to the family.

Lubbock authorities are at University Medical Center, providing support to the Marquez family. It's a tragedy that is being felt by first responders in both Lubbock and Odessa.
