Former Mayor Questioned in Federal Lawsuit

The bid behind the South Lubbock drainage project is back in court. Depositions began in a federal lawsuit Monday morning, starting with former Mayor Marc Mcdougal.

Oscar Renda sued the City of Lubbock in 2004, when he did not win the contract for the drainage project despite being the lowest bidder. The city is supposed to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.

Monday, lawyers questioned McDougal about the $25 million contract. Former Lubbock City Councilmen Tom Martin and Gary Boren will be questioned Tuesday afternoon.
