Abner Euresti Recovers After Surgery - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

As we told you last week, Abner was scheduled to go under the knife Monday morning for prostate cancer surgery.

It was just before sunrise when doctors began what turned out to be a 3 and a half hour procedure. The good news is doctors say they believe the cancer was contained in the prostate, which was removed.

The bad news is even slightly groggy right out of surgery, Abner made it clear that he is still working.

"I'll be watching Karin every night and taking notes. I'll be calling her and making suggestions so she can get better," said Abner.

So, Abner is working out of a hospital room now, but he will return on the air in a few weeks. In the meantime, he and his wife, Tara, want you to know that they really appreciate all the emails and prayers from family, friends and so many viewers.
