A Lubbock police officer is fighting for his life at this hour. Corporal Scott Childers is in critical condition a hospital in Albuquerque. NewsChannel 11 has learned that he lost control of his motorcycle there on Friday and was not wearing a helmet.
The 36-year-old officer has been with the force since 2000. He is married with two children.
A fund is in place to help his family pay for travel and other expenses, so they can be in Albuquerque with Corporal Childers during his recovery.
