City Responds to Allegations of Criminal Misconduct - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The City of Lubbock has issued another response to allegations of criminal misconduct against City Secretary Becky Garza and City Council member Linda DeLeon.

Thursday, NewsChannel 11 told you the people who organized two recall efforts against DeLeon had filed criminal complaints. They alleged misconduct by DeLeon and Garza over the failed petitions.

Friday, City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld issued this statement saying:

"It is my belief that the City Secretary conducted the verification process for both recall petitions in complete compliance with state law. Most importantly, she conducts all business in the City Secretary's office in a professional and ethical manner."
