Hale County Deputy Cleared in Shooting Death - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A Hale County Sheriff's Deputy will not face charges in the shooting death of Jose Vasquez.

This week, a Hale County grand jury declined to indict Deputy Brett Wright, who fatally shot the 35-year-old on August 6, while responding to a domestic disturbance. Vasquez apparently threatened Wright with a garden hoe.

Vasquez's family said he suffered from a mental disorder.
