Lubbock Police Officer Shoots and Kills Pit Bull

A Lubbock Police Officer shot and killed a pit bull Friday night after a woman claimed the dog was trying to attack her.

The woman told police two pit bulls chased her down the street at 64th and Sherman around 10:15 Friday night. The woman was able to make it inside her home but told a 911 dispatcher that the dogs would not leave her property.

Police tell NewsChannel 11 when the officer arrived on the scene, he felt threatened by the pit bull. That is when he shot and killed the dog.

The other pit bull could not be located. Police say no tags were on the dog.
