His name has been cleared, but now Monte Hasie is suing for economic damages.
The former Lubbock School Board member and State Board of Education member has filed suit against the Office of the Comptroller of the United States.
A jury found Hasie guilty of bank fraud, but U.S. Judge Sam Cummings threw out the verdict in March of 2006 due to a lack of evidence.
In the lawsuit, Hasie is demanding documents from the Comptroller's office so he can pursue his case against the bank that brought charges against him.
Monte Hasie Cleared of All Charges
A Lubbock business man is free of all charges. On Monday, a federal judge overturned a guilty verdict and acquitted Monte Hasie of bank fraud.
