The City of Lubbock Health Department is really making it simple now to get protection from the flu if you are considered high risk for the disease.
High risk includes anyone over age 50, but also those with chronic medical conditions like diabetes, lung disease, heart disease or any immunodeficiency. Health care professionals and parents of young children are considered high risk, and so is anyone who lives with or cares for someone in this high risk group.
If you fit that description, you can drive through that clinic Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and get your flu shot for $15, although Medicare will be accepted.
The clinic is on the parking lot of the Health Department at 19th and Texas, but you must get in line by driving north on Avenue J to that parking lot. Other entrances will be barricaded.
