When you think of small furry creatures on the South Plains, prairie dogs often come to mind. But another creature is moving into Lubbock, and it isn't a rodent at all.
A number of opossums have been captured in the Hub City. Lubbock Animal Services says they capture at least one each day.
But residents want to know, why are they here? Are they dangerous? What should I do if I encounter one?
